Congratulations to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, who are the recipients of the first annual DAISY Nurse-Led Team Award!
The Professional Development Council reviewed many blinded nominations, but was particularly moved by the dedication, creativity, and support shown by the NICU team in caring for a baby born at 22 weeks gestation to a mother who was simultaneously facing her own battle with aggressive cancer.
This unit’s team did far more than provide excellent clinical care; they created moments of meaning, dignity, and love that will forever impact this family. Their compassion and commitment are the essence of what the DAISY Award represents."
