Vincent S., BSN, RN, 5 Bles, was selected by the RN Preceptor Recognition Committee as our Preceptor of the Month for June 2025 in recognition of his outstanding mentorship and dedication to 5 Bles. We are so grateful for the incredible impact he makes on his colleagues and the entire nursing team!

He was nominated by Elizabeth W., BSN, RN, CWON, who shared:

Vincent began on 5 Bles as a travel nurse and later transitioned to a PRN role. From the start, he generously offered to precept not only our new graduate nurses, but also incoming travelers and experienced nurses."

"Vincent is calm, patient, and attentive in his teaching style. Many new team members have specifically requested to be scheduled with him, reflecting the positive impact he has on their learning experience. He takes the time to thoroughly explain the "why" and "how" behind his actions, all while maintaining a strong work ethic and professional demeanor."

"Vincent exemplifies the MedStar SPIRIT values and is a true asset in mentoring and shaping the nurses of the future."

Taryn E., BSN, RN, C4-3, was selected by the RN Preceptor Recognition Committee for her outstanding mentorship, compassionate guidance, and ability to inspire the growth and confidence of a nursing student.

Congratulations, Taryn, and thank you for your dedication to shaping the next generation of nurses!

She was nominated by Haley Z., Student Nurse Extern, C4-3, who shared:

"I would like to recognize Taryn as my preceptor because she has played a significant role in helping me improve my clinical skills, critical thinking, and overall approach to patient care. Every day, Taryn brings a positive energy to the unit and truly brings sunshine into every patient’s room. As a preceptor, she demonstrated incredible patience and kindness, especially when I was unsure about a skill or lacked knowledge in certain areas. She never made me feel inadequate; instead, she guided me with encouragement and support, helping me build both confidence and competence. I’m incredibly grateful to have been paired with such a skilled, compassionate, and inspiring nurse. Taryn has made a lasting impact on my learning experience, and I feel fortunate to have learned under her guidance."
